Questions, answered

What is The Golden Carrot?

It is a self reward you set for each project or goal, such as a spa day or a meal out. It stays locked until every step of that project is ticked. Then you can claim it, enjoy it, and it is marked as earned. A treat for finishing, and not before. You can also add a smaller halfway treat and share your goal with a friend. Golden Carrot rewards are self rewards: you choose them and provide them yourself, and they are not provided, endorsed by or associated with the Magic Hat Year Planner or White Bunny Creations.

Can I turn the seasonal effects off?

Yes. A Seasonal magic button lets you choose Automatic, pick a scene, or switch it off. The Pause animations button stops everything too, and if your device is set to reduce motion, the effects stay off.

Can I install it as an app?

Yes. You can use it in your browser, install it as an app, or both. On a computer or Android phone, choose Install in Chrome or Edge. On an iPhone or iPad, open it in Safari and choose Add to Home Screen. It then has its own icon and window, and can open even without a connection. Updates still arrive automatically.

Do I get free updates?

Yes. Your planner is hosted for you, so improvements appear automatically at no extra cost, with nothing to download or update. A What’s new page inside the planner lists every change.

What exactly do I get?

You get the Magic Hat Year Planner as a file, plus a personal licence code that unlocks it. Both arrive straight after your purchase, with simple instructions.

How do I use it?

Save the file to your computer and open it in your web browser. Enter your licence code once, answer the setup questions and your planner builds itself.

What devices does it work on?

It works best on a laptop, desktop or tablet in a modern browser such as Chrome, Edge, Safari or Firefox. Some phones make it harder to open saved files, so a computer or tablet is the easiest way to start.

Do I need an internet connection?

Not once you have the file. Your planner runs in your browser. An internet connection only makes the fancy fonts look their best.

Where is my information kept?

Your plan and ticks are saved in your own browser on your own device, and nothing is sent to us. You can back up your planner to a file at any time, which is a good idea before clearing your browser data.

Can I change my goals later?

Yes. Open the Setup tab, edit your answers and rebuild. Your ticks are kept for every task that still exists.

Can I use it again next year?

Yes. Set new dates and goals, rebuild, and you have a fresh plan.

Can I share it with friends?

Your licence is for your own personal or business use, so please do not share or resell the planner. Friends are very welcome to get their own, and there is a Share this planner button inside the planner that sends them a link to this page.

What about refunds?

Because this is an instant-access digital product, all sales are final once it has been delivered or downloaded, except where the law requires otherwise. Your statutory rights are not affected. Please see our Terms and Conditions for the full details.
